Saudi Arabia Provides Financial Support to WHO to Combat New Coronavirus

Riyadh, March 09, 2020, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the World Health Organization (WHO) are working together to combat novel coronavirus (COVID-19). In support of this effort, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has provided USD10,000,000 to the World Health Organization for the implementation of urgent measures to minimize the spread of the disease and to support countries with vulnerable health infrastructures. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), disclosed that this royal directive embodies the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's noble humanitarian role and reflects its keenness to harness its potential and resources in serving the humanitarian issues in collaboration with the United Nations, its agencies and organizations as well as the international community.
