Geneva, Dhul-Hijjah 21, 1438 H., September 12, 2017, SPA -- The Yemen Alliance for Monitoring Human Rights Violations confirmed that the health and water situations in Yemen have become catastrophic. Yusuf Abu Ras, member of the coalition, said at a meeting on human rights related to water and sanitation held by UN Rapporteur Leo Heller that 15 million Yemenis are deprived from drinking water. He added that the sanitary system has stopped, leading to the spread of various diseases, especially the cholera epidemic, which was described by international organizations as the worst, holding the Houthi militias who staged the coup in Sanaa responsibile for the catastrophic health conditions in Sanaa and other cities. --SPA 20:37 LOCAL TIME 17:37 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w486046
