Cairo, Dhul-Hijjah 21, 1438 H., September 12, 2017, SPA -- Arab foreign ministers stressed the need for unifying Arab and international efforts to face the epidemic of terrorism through striking a comprehensive, integral and unified strategy aiming to root-out the extremist thought on which it was based. In opening speeches at their 148th session held in Cairo today, the Arab foreign ministers underscored the importance of finding Arab solutions for the crises disrupting the region. To reach this goal, they called for better improving the political performance on regional and international issues of concern. They cited the situations in Palestine, Syria, Yemen, Libya and Iraq. They called on Iran to desist from interfering in Arab domestic affairs and end its occupation of the UAE-sovereign islands. The Secretary General of the Arab League Dr. Ahmed Abul-Ghait presented a four-point idea for addressing the Syrian problem in particular. --SPA 19:40 LOCAL TIME 16:40 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w485988
