Jeddah, Dhu-AlQa'dah 16, 1435, September 11, 2014, SPA -- Foreign Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council member states, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Turkey with the participation of the U.S. Secretary of State concluded the regional meeting which was held in Jeddah today to discuss the issue of terrorism in the region, the extremist organizations supporting terrorism, and means to combat terrorism. Following is the text of the communique issued by the meeting: "The ministers representing states of the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Arab Republic of Egypt, Republic of Iraq, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Republic of Lebanon and the United States of America declared their shared commitment to stand united against the threat posed by all terrorism, including the so-called Islamic State in Iraq (ISI), to the region and the world. The participants hailed the formation of the new, inclusive Iraqi Government of all political forces and expressed their support for the immediate steps it has pledged to take to advance the interests of all Iraq's citizens, regardless of religion, sect or ethnicity. The participants resolved to strengthen their support for the new Iraqi Government in its efforts to unite all Iraqis in combating ISI and discussed a strategy to destroy ISI and wherever it is, including in both Iraq and Syria. The participants confirmed their commitment to implement UN Security Council Resolution 2170, and noted the Arab League Resolution 7804 of September 7, 2014, as well as the discussion of ISI at NATO Summit in Wales. The Ministers affirmed their strong commitment to continue the effort to eliminate terrorism. The participating states agreed to do their share in the comprehensive strategy against ISI, including : stopping the flow of foreign fighters through neighboring countries, countering financing of ISI and other extremist groups, repudiating the ideologies of hatred adopted by those terrorist groups, holding perpetrators of those hideousness’s accountable, ending their impunity trials and bringing them to justice, contributing to humanitarian relief efforts, assisting with the reconstruction and rehabilitation of communities brutalized by ISI, supporting states that face the most acute ISI threat, and, as appropriate, joining in the many aspects of coordinated military campaign against ISI.
