Riyadh, 6 Rabea I, 1438, December 5, 2016 SPA--The Ministry of Health announced today that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is one of the countries that are the least affected by AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) as the country has initiated series of programs in AIDS awareness and its prevention among the homeland's communities. In an event marking the World AIDS Day which comes this year under the theme "Hands up for AIDS Prevention", the Ministry of Health launched a scientific conference where all recommendations in the field of providing comprehensive care in all medical and prevention levels will be adopted to ensure that the quality of services provided is of high standards and enhances safeguarding of human dignity. The Ministry said in statement that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is taking part in this world event in order to achieve the millennium Development goals with regard to AIDS, and support for all efforts meant to address the relevant social challenges such as labeling and discrimination which have negative impact on applying HIV effective eliminating strategies, and maintaining human dignity for all those affected. --SPA 15:12 LOCAL TIME 12:12 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w283509
