Moreover, the Shura Council highlighted the efforts being exerted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in coordination with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States since the beginning of the Yemeni crisis in 2011, and resulted in the GCC initiative as the basis for resolving the crisis and the conclusion of "Peace and National Partnership Agreement" in September 2014 between Yemeni political parties, pointing to what was done by Al-Houthi militias and the ousted President's forces which made a coup against the Agreement's decisions as well as against the legitimacy, pushing President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi to launch a distress call for help from GCC's member countries to save Yemen and its people from an unknown future. The Shura Council further said that the Kingdom and the coalition's countries have responded to the Yemeni people and their legitimate government as a moral duty and that the operation "Determination Storm" is consistent with regional and international charters, especially those contained in Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations and complies with United Nations Security Council Resolutions on the situation in Yemen including the Resolution No. 2216 under Chapter VII, which stipulates restoration of the usurped legitimacy from the militias. --SPA 13:41 LOCAL TIME 10:41 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w368926
