Aden, Jumada II 7, 1438 H, March 6, 2017, SPA -- Humanitarian plans, being prepared by the Arab Coalition for the Support of the legitimacy of Yemen, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, have contributed to alleviate the suffering of Yemenis and lift the impacts of chaos and the ravages of the coup which seem to have spread to several provinces. The alliance extends its humanitarian arm to other international organizations and specialist relief centers, particularly Riyadh-based King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid to directly and simultaneously provide necessary aid to all areas of Yemen, following their liberation from the ugly hands of the coup-masterminds in order to help citizens overcome the effects and the influence of the coup. In remarks on this issue, the head of Strategic Studies Unit in the Yemeni army, Brigadier General Ali Obaid Naji, described the humanitarian plans prepared by the coalition in coordination with the National Army and the popular resistance as yet another battle itself beside the military battle. "Beating the enemy in action could not be considered a victory unless coinciding with humanitarian works for all those affected by war", he said, citing that a pre-emptive relief contingency plan was prepared by King Salman Center for Relief and humanitarian Aid and the UAE Red Crescent, and executed once Al-Makha city was liberated from the Houthi usurpers". He went on to say that the people of the liberated city of Al-Makha who came starving under the siege of occupiers, expressed appreciation of the relief bodies who gave them hope and optimism. For his part, President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi of the legitimate government confirmed that the citizens in the western coast areas controlled by militia coup, are suffering from repression, gross violations of human rights, including arrests, enforced disappearances, forced recruitment of children and youths, extrajudicial killings, denial of aid and the bombing of houses. The government indicated that the movement of the National Army backed the Alliance operations for the liberation of the western coast, comes within the framework of the keenness of the legitimate government to end that suffering, and protect citizens from abuses of Houthis, who don't respect any conventions or international laws, and that the core of the work and duties of the government being responsible to protect its citizens. The government explained that the Houthi militias, sell the aid material which come through the port of Hodeida, especially petroleum products, and foodstuffs in the black market, to get money to help them continue to fund their military operations, while the population of Hodeida, are starving. The Yemeni government has indicated that in cooperation with King Salman Center for Relief and humanitarian Aid it managed to provide relief materials and revitalize vital facilities in the city of Makha and other cities and towns in the southern part of the Red Sea, following their liberation from the hands of the Houthis who have used those areas to threat the international navigation and for weapons smuggling. -- SPA 20:54 LOCAL TIME 17:54 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w347240
