Riyadh, Jumada I 29, 1438, Feb 26, 2017, SPA -- Since the establishment of their diplomatic relations in the early 60s, the ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Malaysia have been distinguished by mutual respect and working to develop them in all fields, and these relations continued between the two countries at all levels. The Kingdom enjoys great respect among the official and popular circles and all Islamic gatherings, and the unity of religious belief and spiritual ties forms solid foundations for the existing relations between the two countries. The political relations between the two countries have been established on the basis of understanding and mutual respect where the diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in mid-1961 by opening the Embassy of the Kingdom in Kuala Lumpur and the Embassy of Malaysia in Jeddah. Saudi-Malaysian relationships can be described as deep-rooted, where the political relations between the two countries have witnessed, through the stages of their development, a great deal of excellence during the 7th decade of last century, where Malaysia played a special role following Al-Aqsa Mosque's fire in the late 60s of the last century by the establishment of the Islamic Cooperation Organization. Since the reign of late King Faisal bin Abdulaziz until this ongoing prosperous era, visits were and are still continuing between the two countries, and the first one was made by late King Faisal bin Abdulaziz in 1970, then the visit of the late Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in January 2006. --More 14:14 LOCAL TIME 11:14 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w340580
