Jakarta, Ramadan 4, 1437, Jun 9, 2016, SPA -- Indonesian police have arrested three militants suspected of plotting bomb attacks in the country, an official said Thursday. National police spokesman Brig. Gen. Boy Rafli Amar said the men were captured Wednesday by an anti-terror squad in Surabaya, the provincial capital of East Java. Amar said the militants, identified as Priyo Hadi Purnomo, Jefri and Feri Novendi, had planned an attack during the current month of Ramadan, AP reported. He said three homemade bombs, a suicide bomb vest, guns and high-explosive materials were seized from the group. Purnomo was prepared to be a suicide bomber, he said. Amar said the men wanted to imitate a Jan. 14 attack in Jakarta that killed eight people, including four militants. An initial investigation found the men had surveyed a police station in Surabaya as possible target. Other possible targets included public places, government offices and foreign consulates, Amar said. --SPA 18:01 LOCAL TIME 15:01 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
