Nouakchott, Shawwal 20, 1437, July 25, 2016, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stressed that the periodic acts of terrorism and violent extremism which are currently seen in the region and the world pose a threat to our peoples, nations and international peace and security, noting that many of the perpetrators of these terrorist crimes are trying to link these acts to Islam, although Islam is innocent of them. The Kingdom called for intensifying efforts at all levels nationally, regionally and internationally to fight all aspects of terrorism and extremism and for this purpose, the Kingdom established the first Islamic military alliance to fight terrorism and extremism, which has so far included 40 Arab and Islamic states. This came in a speech that was delivered by Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, the head of the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the 27th regular Arab summit which is currently being held in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania Al-Jubeir conveyed to the participants in the summit the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and his wishes for success to the summit in serving the joint Arab action. The minister also thanked the brotherly government and people of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania under the leadership of President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz for hosting the 27th Arab summit and the warm welcome and generous hospitality.
