U.S. Secretary of State praises Saudi Arabia efforts in fighting Daesh

Washington, Rabi'II 30, 1437, February 09, 2016, SPA -- U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry expressed thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the efforts the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has exerted in assisting the Coalition Forces against terrorist organization of Daesh (ISIS) and the Saudi announcement that they are ready to take part in any land operations that might be agreed upon by the Coalition Forces against Daesh in Syria. Speaking to reporters following talks with Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, held at the headquarters of the State Department in Washington today, Kerry said "Let me thank the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the strenuous efforts they have exerted in assisting the Coalition Forces against Daesh organization and their being prepared to get engaged using their troops as part of the Coalition as well as the steps taken by the GCC countries which are considered important for the security of the region." Kerry said he talked with minister Al-Jubeir about the dire need to proceed with the different peace files efforts in the Middle East region. He added that the U.S. hopes to score some progress as regards Syria as the U.S. was working to get international support to solve the crisis and proceed with delivering humanitarian assistance and achieving comprehensive ceasefire according to Security Council resolution No. 2254. We hope that when we meet in Munich over the coming few days, we would be in a position to enable us score progress in this regard, he added. He said his talks with Al-Jubeir also dealt with the possibility to end the current conflict in Yemen in the coming weeks.
