United Nations, Rabi'I 26, 1437, Jan 6, 2016, SPA -- The chief of the U.N. International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said Wednesday that if a reported North Korean nuclear test is confirmed, it would be a "clear violation" of U.N. Security Council resolutions and "deeply regrettable." "I strongly urge the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to implement fully all relevant resolutions of the U.N. Security Council and the IAEA," Director-General Yukiya Amano said in a statement. Amano said the U.N. nuclear-monitoring agency remains ready to contribute to the peaceful resolution of the North Korean nuclear issue "by resuming its nuclear verification activities in the DPRK once a political agreement is reached among countries concerned." --SPA 20:26 LOCAL TIME 17:26 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
