Washington, Rabi'I 21, 1437, January 01, 2016, SPA -- The World Food Programme (WFP) is deeply concerned about the rapidly deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Yemeni city of Taiz, where people have been going hungry for weeks as WFP struggles to reach vulnerable families in the war-torn city. Regional Director of the program Muhannad Hadi has appealed to allow the safe passage of food to all civilians in need in all areas in Taiz. He said that the difficult situation in Taiz hampered WFP's efforts in reaching the poor population, especially in the besieged parts of the city, who have food aid is not available to them weeks ago.
