GUATEMALA CITY, Sha'ban 04, 1437, May 11, 2016, SPA -- Guatemala's congress has stripped immunity from a supreme court justice accused of taking a bribe to resolve a matter in favor of a port company, according to AP. Lawmaker Leonel Lira said Tuesday that the decision to make Justice Douglas Charchal subject to prosecution passed with a lopsided vote of 136 in favor to 22 against. Prosecutors alleged in April that Charchal received an armored Range Rover in exchange for ruling that the company Terminal de Contenedores Quetzal did not have to pay a construction license. Charchal has denied the allegation and requested that the supreme court grant him leave. --SPA 01:36 LOCAL TIME 22:36 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
