Magnitude-6.2 quake hits southern Japanese islands, no tsunami threat

Tokyo, Sha'ban 24, 1437, May 31, 2016, SPA -- A magnitude-6.2 earthquake rattled southern Japanese islands on Tuesday, but no tsunami warning was issued, the Japan Meteorological Agency said, according to dpa. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage to property from the quake, which struck far underground at a depth of 220 kilometres.
