Riyadh 03 Safar 1437 AH, November 15, 2015, SPA -- The national workshop specialized for protection from chemical, biological, nuclear and radioactive hazardous materials and the development of a national action has started it works here, organized by the National Commission for Conventions banning chemical and biological weapons at the Foreign Ministry in collaboration with the United Nations Institute for Crime and Justice Research (UNICRI) and the initiative of the European Union Centers of excellence for the prevention of the risks of chemical, biological, nuclear and radioactive materials. Prince Dr. Turki bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Kabeer, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Multi-lateral Relations and Chairman of National Commission for Conventions banning chemical and biological weapons said in his speech during the opening of the workshop, "This workshop is the first of its kind to be held in the Kingdom in cooperation with a number of international bodies under the supervision of highly-specialized United Nations Institute for Crime and Justice Research and the European initiative for Centers of excellence for protection from the risks of chemical, biological, radioactive and nuclear materials. He added that the workshop aims to raise the qualification of Saudi cadres specialized in this area and inform them of the latest methods used internationally to prevent the risks of these materials and consultations between the staff of the relevant government agencies and advanced specialized companies and international bodies to develop a national plan of action to address these risks. -- SPA 14:10 LOCAL TIME 11:10 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
