Arab Bank for Development in Africa holds 3rd meeting in Sudan

Khartoum, Dhu-AlHijjah 16, 1436, September 30, 2015, SPA -- The third meeting in Sudan of the Arab Bank for Development in Africa for the year 2015 kicked off today and lasts for three days. Vice President and Managing Director of the Saudi Development Fund (SDF) Yousef Al-Bassam chaired the meeting in his capacity as President of the bank. In an opening address, he gave an account on the bank's achievements. He said the number of ABDA-financed projects are expected, by the end of Khartoum meeting, to reach 19 worth $200 million and the technical support operations 33 worth nearly $10 million. He said the bank's activity in 2015 focused on Arab exports to African countries and financing the private sector. For his part, the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning of Sudan Badraddin Mahmoud lauded the bank's achievements over the last 40 years. Since 1975, the bank allotted $4838,583 million to finance 605 developmental projects in Africa, 628 technical support operations for the private sector and 32 foreign trade operations as part of the bank's program to finance Arab exports to African countries. --SPA 19:43 LOCAL TIME 16:43 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
