Jeddah, Rabi'II 24, 1437, February 03, 2016, SPA -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has condemned in the strongest terms the attack carried out recently by elements of the Boko Haram terrorist group on the village of Dalori near Maiduguri, in north eastern Nigeria in which 92 innocent lives were killed, 136 injured and some victims were burned alive in the village that was set on fire. The Secretary General, Iyad Ameen Madani while expressing his solidarity with the government of Nigeria in its sustained fight against the extremist Boko Haram group, conveyed his condolences to and sympathy with the government and people of Nigeria as well as the families of the victims of this obnoxious incident. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of those wounded. Madani reiterated the OIC’s principled position against all forms of terrorism and extremism, which pose a major threat to all its Member States and international peace and security. In this regard, he welcomed the outcome of the international donors’ conference held on 1 February 2016 at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa where the sum of 250 million US dollars was pledged to finance the operations of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) established by countries in the Lake Chad region to combat the violent activities of Boko Haram terrorist group. --SPA 12:39 LOCAL TIME 09:39 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
