Jeddah, Ramadan 8, 1436, Jun 25, 2015, SPA -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) called on its Member States and their humanitarian organizations to hold the activities they deem appropriate to raise awareness of the issues and needs of orphans on the occasion of the Day of Orphans in the Muslim World, which falls on 15 Ramadan, proceeding from the principle of Islamic solidarity. It is worth mentioning that the 40th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers held in Conakry, Republic of Guinea, on 9-11 December 2013 adopted a resolution in which 15 Ramadan of every year was designated as a Day of Orphans in the Muslim World to raise awareness of their issues and their needs. --SPA 18:04 LOCAL TIME 15:04 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
