Toll in South Sudan Tanker Blast Rises above 170

Juba, Dhu-AlHijjah 5, 1436, Sep 19, 2015, SPA -- The death toll in the explosion of a fuel tanker in South Sudan has surpassed 170, dpa quoted the Red Cross as saying Saturday. Many of the injured, who suffered severe burns, remain in critical condition after the accident Wednesday outside the south-western city of Maridi. The death toll had initially been give as at least 85. The explosion happened after a crowd rushed to collect petrol from a tanker that had overturned in an accident in Western Equatoria state.
