Saudi Committee for Relief of Afghan people distributes aid worth more than SR 12 million

Riyadh, Sha'aban 08, 1436 AH, May 26, 2015, SPA -- Saudi Committee for the Relief of the Afghan people ended the third phase of winter relief project in Afghanistan, which was approved by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, and the General Supervisor of the Saudi Committee for the Relief of the Afghan people, who directed to provide the relief needs for the Afghan people during the winter season; and a sum of SR (12.5) million was approved to provide food baskets and blankets implemented in three stages in cooperation with the concerned authorities in Afghanistan and in coordination with the Saudi Embassy in Kabul. The Committee has purchased and provided 55 thousand food baskets, and 50 thousand blankets for the relief of 55 thousand poor families affected by the natural disasters across Afghanistan, in addition to sending three convoys to different stages in 25 Afghan states for the distribution in coordination with the Afghan Red Crescent Society and the management of the fight against natural disasters in Afghanistan. --More 16:13 LOCAL TIME 13:13 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
