Saudi Committee for Relief of Afghan People Dispatches Aid for Affected by Floods, Landslides

Islamabad, Rajab 26, 1435, May 25, 2014, SPA -- In implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and under the supervision of Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Interior who is also the General Supervisor of the Saudi Committee for the Relief of the Afghan people, the committee has presented food and relief aid to those affected by the floods and disaster of landslides that hit areas in the north of Afghanistan recently. In this regard, the Saudi Embassy in Kabul signed yesterday a memorandum of understanding with the Afghan Red Crescent to distribute the aid presented by the Saudi Committee for Relief of the Afghan People. On the occasion, Afghan officials who attended the signing ceremony of the memorandum extended a cable of thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for this humanitarian initiative, stressing that the Kingdom has always been at the forefront of the stand by the Afghan people whenever they expeince any difficult circumstances or natural disaster.
