BRASILIA, Ramadan 20, 1435, Jul 17, 2014, SPA -- Chinese President Xi Jinping has wrapped up a state visit to Brazil by signing a series of trade agreements with the leader of Latin America's biggest nation. According to AP, Brazil's President Dilma Rousseff says the agreements show that ties between China and Brazil have never been stronger. China has been Brazil's largest trading partner since 2009, when it moved past the United States. One of the agreements signed Thursday involves China's purchase of 60 passenger jets produced by the Brazilian plane maker Embraer. Rousseff says the two countries also discussed Chinese participation in the construction of a proposed railway that would link Brazil's Atlantic coast to Pacific ports in Peru. Other agreements addressed various sectors including mining, education and construction. --SPA 22:29 LOCAL TIME 19:29 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
