United Nations, Rabi'II 8, 1436, Jan 28, 2015, SPA -- A six-person Bulgarian helicopter crew has gone missing after reports that their aircraft made an unexpected landing in a conflict-torn area in Sudan, a U.N. spokeswoman said Wednesday. Amor Almagro, a spokeswoman for the World Food Program (WFP) in Sudan, said that the crew was on a contract with the agency’s offices in South Sudan. She said it was not yet clear why the helicopter made an unexpected landing Monday in a remote area in South Kordofan, which is on the Sudanese side of the border with South Sudan. Almagro said that there are “strong indications” that the crew is safe, although she did not elaborate. --SPA 19:01 LOCAL TIME 16:01 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
