New Delhi, Sha'ban 22, 1436, June 09, 2015, SPA -- An Indian Coast Guard reconnaissance plane with three crew members on board has gone missing off the south-eastern coast, officials said Tuesday, according to dpa. The aircraft had taken off from Chennai on a routine surveillance flight Monday evening. It lost contact about four hours later near Tiruchirappalli, 95 nautical miles (176 kilometres) south of Chennai, defence spokesman Sitanshu Kar said. "The missing Dornier a/c was the latest induction in Indian Coast Guard, in 2014, and was being flown by highly experienced crew," Kar wrote on Twitter. The navy and coast guard have launched search operations including nine ships and aircraft. --SPA 11:35 LOCAL TIME 08:35 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
