Sana'a, Shawwal 8, 1435, Aug 4, 2014, SPA -- The ten states sponsoring the GCC initiative, including the five permanent member states of the United Nations Security Council, the GCC states and the European Union, announced its support to the national reconciliation for which Yemen's President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi called in his address to the nation on the occasion of the Eid al-Fitr. In a joint communique, a copy of which was sent to Yemen News Agency (Saba), the ambassadors of the ten countries to Yemen said that "Yemen is still facing various challenges that affect security, economy and political life." They emphasized that Yemen will come out of this transitional phase united and strong if all Yemenis work to implement a national re-conciliatory vision for building a new Yemen based on the outcomes of the national dialogue without further delay. They said that the GCC initiative and it's implementing timetable provide the frame that all political streams should be united on as a foundation for the political transition and the vital reforms. They insisted that all parties and groups should engage urgently in implementing the results of the national dialogue according to the official commitments they have made. "Implementing the recommendations of the national dialogue without delay will lead to drafting a new constitution and drawing the road map for the next steps that lead to the forthcoming general and presidential elections," the statement read. The ambassadors voiced hope for further progress, and urged those parties who are not involved at all, or are negatively involved, to do so. "We encourage all those who have got a role in drawing the future of Yemen to work vigorously for the interest of all to make sure that the reform process and society building is going on swiftly and with an integrated and resolute manner," it added. --SPA 17:42 LOCAL TIME 14:42 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
