Residents of more than 100 other homes near Entiat have been told to be prepared to leave. The blaze broke out Tuesday at Mills Canyon and has burned nearly 3 square kilometers. Flames burned down to Highway 97A late Wednesday, forcing the closure of a 48-kilometer stretch. Another fire in the state late Wednesday burned two mobile homes, outbuildings, and vehicles near Yakima. It spread across 8 hectares of brush and went to three alarms before firefighters bulldozed a line around it.
