Beirut, Sha'ban 18, 1435, Jun 16, 2014, SPA -- Kuwait's National Assembly Speaker and Head of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union Marzouq Al-Ghanim on Monday reiterated Kuwait's commitment to help Lebanon deal with economic and social burden caused by the non-stop influx of Syrian refugees into its territories. "Kuwaitis and Arabs would not let Lebanon tackle this problem alone," Al-Ghanim told reporters during a tour to Syrian refugee camps in the Eastern Lebanese city of Beqaa. "It is a humanitarian, religious and national obligation to offer a helping hand to our brothers and sisters in Syria and Lebanon." He pointed out that his visit is meant to get acquainted with the situation of the refugees, the services provided to them as well as their needs, KUNA reported. "This would end up with a number of practical measures to help alleviate the suffering of Syrian refugees and ease the burden on Lebanese government and people," he said. --SPA 20:15 LOCAL TIME 17:15 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
