RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman congratulated Nikos Christodoulides on Tuesday after he was elected as president of Cyprus. The former foreign minister of Cyprus gained 51.97 percent of the vote in a run-off, beating communist-backed career diplomat Andreas Mavroyiannis who took 48.03 percent. The king and crown prince sent separate cables wishing Christodoulides good luck and the people of Cyprus more prosperity.
