She is a founder of Poetic Blues Virtual/ Festival: an international platform from poets and musicians. Published in 2016 with the 2nd series featuring 25 budding and prominent poets in the country, the anthology was launched in May 2022. She has been to China at the international writing center at Beijing Normal University with dialogue & translations between Chinese and International poets exchanging from Mexico, Germany, California, India and Denmark She poems were published in the poetry anthology ‘Poetry and Poetics across languages’ with her works translated into Mandarin and also published in the literary literary magazines in China “Roses across oceans”– ‘Translated Chinese and Foreign Poetry Sharon & Xia Ji Feng Poetry Society. Also shared her poems at the Lu Xun Poetry and Translation College. JahRose was invited Denmark at ‘Odense Lyrik ‘Festival for poetry performances, dialogues and book sharing. With her poems translated into Danish. – March 2019 University of Minnesota-USA invited her to give a lecture to PHD candidates’ on the perspective on South African Contemporary Art. And to Co-edit a book with a certain professor at University of California- 2020 This year JahRose was part of the African day celebrations in Singapore exchange program through the office of the High Commissioner of South Africa in Singapore, Hon Charlotte Lobe and the Ambassador of Singapore in South Africa Rodrigo chiari and the high commissioner H.E Zainal Arif Mantaha… as a panelist and poet -2022 Locally she has been featured in the Sol Plaatjie volume iii poetry anthology where her works have been described as metaphorical with pure imagery Her Book ‘Free State of Mind’ has been adapted into Braille by the South African Library for the Blind and adapted to a film documentary by Big Fish Film School She also featured in the Botsotso poetry anthology “ Home Is Where The Mic Is’ edited by Mandi Vundla. JahRose is a founder Sun Peo, it is here that 40 publications were birthed including poetry anthologies, literary magazines, children books, audio books and live poetry performance DVD’s from the poetry stages she has coordinated and curated such as the international Poetic Blues, Peopress and Poetree poetry festival. And mentors young ones in schools who also have published their poetry and prose anthologies. She is a mentor of note; facilitates creative writing workshops in schools particularly poetry. Mentors the youth who have the spark of words. Coaches and later publishes their voices in the ‘Pocket Your Thoughts Program.’ With 3 anthologies thus far and 5 Manuscripts pending from over five schools in the Free State Province and one in the country of Lesotho. Together with other authors from her hometown they host an annual ‘Women in Writing Seminar’, which it’s in its 4th year growing steadily. Mandated to empower upcoming writers, through various topics in the field of writing & publishing industry. JahRose believes creativity needs to make business sense. ART needs to comprehend economics’ demand and supply including monetizing the digital streets as we build the industry. Poem Egg yolk medium I cannot stand the smell of eggs Boiled, fried or scrambled The nausea pellets bubble my chest Borrow me some air before I throw up. I grew to appreciate my ovaries The very eggs gifting life, assumed a chance From ovulation – prompted tickly nipples To oxytocin – released during breastfeeding. He fed me nutritional warm stews of eggplants Heated the eggs in my oven-soil Our babies are yet to discover winter cruises Nostalgic cabin dinners with the captain’s main chef All eggshells crushed, yolk glued canvass Mixed medium finished with acrylics A new creation hanged on my wall Life began, rooted in delight and bliss.
