Saudi Arabia offered over $7 billion humanitarian aid to international organizations in 2021

RIYADH — Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir has affirmed that the Kingdom has offered, through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), more than $7 billion humanitarian aid to the international organizations in 2021. Speaking during the third edition of the Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum, Al-Jubeir noted that KSrelief operates in more than 82 countries around the world. Al-Jubeir added that the humanitarian aid is part of Saudi Arabia"s ethos, which seeks to deliver aid to the largest number of those who need it. “The priorities of areas that need help, differ from one time to another.” Saudi Arabia is taking into account what is related to climate change, issue of food security, and the disasters that occur and affect the countries, Al-Jubeir said. The Kingdom has a long history in helping humanitarian organizations, and the United Nations, he stated, confirming the importance of providing funding for people who need help. Regarding women empowerment, he affirmed the necessity of women"s role in the community. He said, “The country cannot progress and grow if half of its population was working in the kitchen and does not help in achieving its renaissance,” Thus, Saudi Arabia was keen to enhance the women"s role in several sectors, and provide them with incentives. Al-Jubeir also denounced Taliban"s decision to prevent women from completing their university education, adding that this decision is wrong and contradicts the teachings of Islam. He also hoped that there would be more cooperation between countries to face challenges. February
