Senegal Expresses Its Support for KSA's Stances for Security and Stability of Holy Sites

Dakar, March 14, 2020, SPA -- Senegalese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amadou Ba, expressed his country's strong support for the stances of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia( KSA), its keenness and great interest in the health and safety of Umrah performers and visitors from the novel coronavirus and all the measures taken to ensure that this is achieved, and its relentless pursuit to preserve the lives of Umrah performers. This came during a meeting attended by Saudi Ambassador to Senegal, Fahd bin Ali Al-Dosari; Senegalese Minister of Interior, Aly Ngouille Ndiaye; Senegalese Minister of Health, Abdoulaye Diouf Sarr; Head of the Senegalese Hajj Mission, Abdulaziz Kay, and a number of Senegalese officials. Ba conveyed to Ambassador Al-Dosari the greetings of President Macky Sall for the wise leadership in the Kingdom. For his part, Ambassador Al-Dosari thanked the Senegalese government and President Macky Sall for their keenness to enhance relations between the two countries, pointing out that the Kingdom has taken a temporary decision to suspend Umrah, as part of the precautionary measures that the Kingdom’s government has consistently taken to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus epidemic and prevent its access to the Two Holy Mosques, which are witnessing a permanent and intense flow of human crowds, which makes the issue of securing these crowds of utmost importance. --SPA 15:57 LOCAL TIME 12:57 GMT 0008 www.spa.gov.sa/w1288037
