Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Chairs 50th Meeting of Board of Directors of King Abdulaziz Foundation

Riyadh, November 27, 2019, SPA -- The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired here today the 50th meeting of the Board of Directors of King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah). At the outset of the meeting, the King affirmed keenness on national history, appreciating the Foundation's development of curriculum of social studies in public education and the national history curriculum for universities in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, which presents the country's heritage and history in a distinctive educational manner. Then, the Board discussed topics on its agenda and issued a number of developmental decisions for the Foundation's work, including approving the transformation of the Saudi Digital History Center to the Saudi Center for Digital Content. The Board also approved the implementation of the National Historical Studies Initiative under the supervision of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Chairman of King Abdulaziz Foundation. The implementation aims to develop aspects of the Saudi historical school to be a pioneer and influential, including the development of scientific and academic programs and to upgrade the activities of the Saudi Historical Society and its programs to increase its effectiveness in the scientific movement. The Board approved the list of regulations, human resources, financial regulations, contracts and procurement regulations concluded by the committee formed by King Abdulaziz Foundation and the Ministry of Finance. The Board also approved the final fiscal account of the King Abdulaziz Foundation for the fiscal year 1439/1440 AH and was briefed on the activities of the Cultural Department that were implemented in that year. --SPA 15:54 LOCAL TIME 12:54 GMT 0023 www.spa.gov.sa/w1218075
