Arab Health Ministers Affirm Importance of Promoting Joint Action to Achieve Comprehensive Health Care for Citizens

Cairo, February 28, 2019, SPA -- The Arab Ministers of Health affirmed the importance of promoting joint action in order to protect public health, prevent the spread of epidemics and achieve comprehensive health care for citizens, as well as cooperate with the World Health Organization (WHO) to counter noncommunicable diseases. Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Dhuwaile'a, Vice Minister of Health for Health Affairs, led the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's delegation to the Arab Ministers of Health 51st meeting. In a key speech, UAE Minister of Health and Prevention Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al-Owais, who is the rotatory president of the session, held at the headquarters of the Arab League, called for strengthening the joint Arab action and solidarity for the preservation of public health and preventing the spread of epidemics. Addressing the conference, Al-Dhuwaile'a extended warm condolence and sympathy to the Egyptian people and government on the painful accident of Ramses train which claimed dozens of victims and injuries. He disclosed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is completely ready to host an advanced training course in the field of response to public health emergency in September this year.
