Quito, Rabi'I 15, 1439, Dec 3, 2017, SPA -- A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck along the coast of Ecuador Sunday in the same area where a much stronger tremor left hundreds dead last year. President Lenin Moreno said there were no immediate reports of victims or major damage from the quake, which jolted many Ecuadoreans who were still in bed shortly after 6 a.m. (1100 GMT). It was felt in 12 provinces across the country, AP reported. The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake, with a depth of 15.5 miles (25 kilometers), was centered around the town of San Vicente. Authorities said that there wasn't a risk of a tsunami and appealed for calm. --SPA 19:17 LOCAL TIME 16:17 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w553465
