Cairo, April 25, 2021, SPA -- Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry has reiterated his country's condemnation of ongoing Houthi attacks on Saudi territories, its support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in defending its national security, as well as Egypt's support and welcoming of the Saudi initiative to resolve the Yemeni crisis. Shoukry’s statement was made today during his meeting with the Special Envoy of the Secretary General of the United Nations for Yemen Martin Griffiths. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson Ambassador Ahmed Hafez said in a statement that the Foreign Minister stressed during the meeting Egypt's standing in solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in its efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis that meets the aspirations of the Yemeni people in terms of security, stability, and development, and ends its humanitarian crisis, in accordance with the Gulf Initiative and its executive mechanisms, the outcomes of the Yemeni National Dialogue, and relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
