Saudi, UAE, Joint Humanitarian Contributions Enable WFP to Help 66,000 Yemeni Families, within 6-Month

Aden, Dhu-AlHijjah 4, 1439, Aug 15, 2018, SPA -- Deputy Director of the World Food Program (WFP) Ali Reza Qureshi emphasized that that distribution of baskets of foods, in Yemen targeted thousands of Yemeni families that were selected, after identifying their actual needs, through a field team of the organization, indicating that food baskets will be distributed through different centers, in the neighborhoods of the provinces and liberated directorates. This came during the inauguration of the WFP campaign here today, in Al-Arish area in Aden, under the: "Food Basket Distribution Project", which aims to reach all Yemeni governorates liberated, in partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, in the presence of the UAE' Director of Humanitarian Operations, in Yemen Saeed Al-Kaabi and the Head of the Supreme Relief Committee of the legitimate Yemeni government Jamal Balfakih and a number of Yemeni officials. The generous humanitarian contributions of the Kingdom and the UAE enabled the WFP to assist 66,000 families, in a six-month period, affected by the hurricane on the island of Socotra, Qureshi said.
