London, Dec 20, 2019, SPA -- Prince Turki Al-Faisal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, opened an exhibition under the title of: (Al-Faisal) organized by the Center, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the historic journey of the late King Faisal bin Abdulaziz, to Europe to attend signing of the Versailles Treaty, here today. The exhibition was attended by a number of ministers and diplomats from the United Kingdom and friendly countries, businessmen, media and public figures and a group of academics, researchers, school and university students, as well as Saudi and Arab residents, in England and Europe. Prince Al-Faisal valued the historical, political, diplomatic, cultural and economic friendship between the Saudi and British governments and peoples. Al-Faisal exhibition will last for three weeks, on its European tour as an appreciation of the good relations between the two countries. "This historic visit a hundred years ago by King Faisal achieved great success, and the first diplomatic tour paved the way for his emergence later as a statesman, who knows the world truly, as it was the best preparation for future mutual visits between him and European leaders," the Prince said, adding that the were also lessons Al-Faisal learned during his visit, especially with regard to the importance of education and industry, he applied it in his vision to modernize the kingdom, which contributed to making him one of the most prominent political figures, in the twentieth century, as King Faisal led the kingdom in a difficult historical stage, and his vision and tireless work for the Kingdom are still a source of inspiration for efforts to develop the country today. --SPA 18:55 LOCAL TIME 15:55 GMT 0007 www.spa.gov.sa/w1232269
