Saudi-Korean Joint Committee Holds Meetings of the 19th Session in Riyadh

Riyadh, December, 18, 2019, SPA -- The Saudi-Korean Joint Committee held here today meetings of the 9th session under co-chairmanship of Saudi Minister of Economy and Planning Mohammad bin Mazid Al-Tuwaijri and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Korea Kang Kyung-wha. At the outset of the meeting, Minister of Economy and Planning Mohammad bin Mazid Al-Tuwaijri delivered a speech in which he lauded the Saudi-Korean relations binding the two countries, adding that this meeting comes in coincidence with the Kingdom's readiness to host the G20. He added that this meeting affirms a close cooperation between the two sides, disclosing that more than 21 fields of cooperation will be discussed. The Saudi-Korean Joint Committee discussed 21 promising fields of cooperation between the two friendly countries, including information technology, electronic government, health, medicines, education, development, culture, tourism, energy, housing, infrastructure, aviation, satellites, intellectual property and media. The meeting witnessed the signing of agreement King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and Korea Institute of Ceramic Engineering and Technology (KICET) in the field of energy efficiency. For her part, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Korea Kang Kyung-wha expressed her deep appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the generous hospitality, adding that this meeting comes as an extension of the meeting of the 18th joint committee held in Seoul two years ago. "It is my first visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
