Munich, 03 Jumada II,1439 AH, 19 February,2018 , SPA -- Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir participated in Munich, Germany yesterday in a panel discussion within Munich Security Conference. He confirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia embarked on a major transformation through Vision 2030, saying "We are seeking to diversify our economy away from oil, open new areas for investment, and empower our youth and women". Minister Al-Jubeir added, "We want to transform our country into a dynamic, innovative and highly transparent country and an effective society, as seventy percent of the population of the Kingdom is under the age of 30 and they have hopes, aspirations and dreams, and our goal is to ensure that they can achieve these hopes, aspirations and dreams, while ensuring that our country is elevated to higher levels" . He pointed to the Iranian regime by saying, "The problems in the region began with the revolution of Khomeini in 1979 which unleashed sectarianism in the region and adhered to its constitution that enshrines the principle of exporting the revolution and not recognizing citizenship, as it states that deprived Shiites, as the regime calls them, affiliate to Iran, and this is shameful and unacceptable. " Minister Al-Jubeir pointed to some terrorist acts carried out by the Iranian regime saying, "Didn't Iran attack the United States Embassy in Beirut in 1981?, did not Iran and its agents attack US Marines at Beirut International Airport which led to killing 270 people?", adding, "Hasn't not Iran carried out terrorist acts in Europe, including here in Germany, Argentina and elsewhere?, yes, they have done so, can they deny this?, of course no." --More 13:56 LOCAL TIME 10:56 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w615403
