Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council Holds 1st Meeting in Riyadh

Riyadh, Safar 2, 1439, Oct 22, 2017, SPA -- The Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council held here today its first meeting which was co-chaired by Dr. Majed bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, Saudi Minister of Commerce and Investment, and Iraqi Minister Planning and Acting Trade Minister Dr. Salman Al-Jumayli. At the outset of the meeting, the Minister of Commerce and Investment delivered a speech in which he hoped that the council would achieve aspirations of the two peoples, highlighting the contents of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud's speech during opening the 1st meeting of the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council. He added that establishment of this council reflects joint and serious desire of the two leaderships to rising the bilateral relations and consolidating ways of cooperation in all fields. For his part, the Iraqi Minister Planning thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Prime Minister of Iraq Haydar Al-Abadi for their patronage of the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council. In his speech, he stressed that the council has an immense responsibility to enhance relations between the two countries, lauding launching a new stage of relations between the two countries which will enhance economic cooperation, trade, peace, security and stability in the region.
