Riyadh, March 29, 2021, SPA -- The National Digital Transformation Unit released the annual report which sheds light on the most important achievements of the digital transformation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where the digital transformation is considered as a cornerstone for achieving the Kingdom's 2030 vision for a vibrant society, a thriving economy and an ambitious nation. This report comes following several continuous reports published by the National Committee for Digital Transformation. The report also focuses on highlighting government entities' efforts in all aspects of digital transformation that help create a digital infrastructure. The semi-annual report includes a set of remarkable accomplishments in different sectors that present the digital transformation's progress and its implementations. The smart government sector had an extraordinary number regarding the accomplishments; more than 300million authentication processes are done via "the National Single Sign-On" service while more than 19million users use Twakkalna application. In contrast, more than 380 million S.R. as contributions made on JOOD ESKAN platform that supports the low-income beneficiaries in which a great impact on the society. MOH is being used in the health sector to modernize the system for booking medical appointments and online consultations, so around 69 million appointments have been booked via the “Mawid” application. In contrast, more than 2 million medical consultations have been given to citizens through the “sehha” application. Justice and Education are considered as a vital and essential sector, specifically in the digital transformation process. The Ministry of Education launched the Madrasiti platform, which has more than 5 million user provided with 90 million virtual class; likewise, the ministry of justice launched the Najiz platform used by 2.8 million beneficiaries providing them with justice services. On the other hand, there are serval digital accomplishments in digital culture and tourism sector, 400,000 e-visas were issued and in 3 – 5 minutes period for each visa via the ‘Tourist Visa Platform’ while in municipality services “Balady” platform has provided full municipal services for smart cities sector. According to the global competitiveness yearbook, globally, Saudi Arabia is ranked 2nd incorporate cybersecurity and 7th in financing technical development. Saudi Arabia is Ranked 7th globally on average mobile Internet speeds with a speed of more than 54.66 MB /s; besides, it won the ITU’s (International Telecommunication Union) Award for Government Leadership in 2020. Moreover, in digital policies, a set of rules and regulations regarding government e-services have been issued to develop electronic systems and services. In contrast, data classification policies have been set to ensure the protection of national data. In addition, this development plan included the deployment of 12,000 5G towers deployed in all regions of the Kingdom.
