Saudi Arabia Succeeds in Setting Ambitious Strategy for Digital Transformation, Saudi Press Report

Riyadh, Nov. 05, 2021, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Bilad newspaper editorially reported that, through its vision 2030, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has succeeded in setting ambitious strategy towards digital transformation. Such unprecedented progress has been made through launching a number of initiatives to develop the communications and information technology sector in order to achieve the highest levels in this field globally, the paper said. This outstanding achievement comes to enhance investment in the digital economy, in addition to stimulating the digital regulatory environment in various vital sectors, the paper added. Saudi Arabia was classified globally as one of the most mature sector regulators at the 5th level around the world due to many great reforms made by the Communications and Information Technology Commission, the paper further added. These organizational successes are reflected in improving services, doubling the number of licensed companies, in addition to increasing internet speed by about 1,548% during the past four years, the paper concluded. Al-Yaum newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia exerts unremitting efforts for international cooperation in the field of disaster risk reduction and emergency management, in order to achieve a safe and stable life for peoples of the world. In this regard, the Saudi Arabia's participation in the Belt and Road Ministerial Forum for International Cooperation in Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Management, organized virtually by the Ministry of Emergency Management of the People’s Republic of China, came to enhance disaster risk reduction and build capacity for emergency management, the paper said.
