New York, Dec 21, 2020, SPA -- The United Nations (UN) unanimously adopted today a resolution submitted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt, to celebrate the International Day of Human Fraternity on the fourth of February of each year, starting in 2021. This resolution is an embodiment of the pioneering role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the joint efforts of the countries sponsoring the resolution in combating religious hate speech and spreading a culture of tolerance. In a statement issued today, the United Nations expressed its encouragement for activities aimed at strengthening interfaith and intercultural dialogue in order to promote peace, social stability, respect for diversity and the pursuit of mutual respect, and to create an environment conducive to achieving peace and mutual understanding at the global level and also at the regional, national and local levels. --SPA 02:12 LOCAL TIME 23:12 GMT 0028 www.spa.gov.sa/w1471629
