Baku, Azerbaijan, May 02, 2019, SPA -- Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen today called for building a cultural civilizational strong barrier to enrich the values of dialogue among different cultures on one hand and bar the attack of high waves of hatred, racism and discrimination on the other, as well as the terror and extremism they produce. Addressing the 5th International Forum for Dialogue among Cultures which is being held in Baku, Azerbaijan, Al-Othaimeen reminded his listeners of the crimes committed under the slogan of hatred, citing the recent attacks on two mosques in New Zealand in addition to churchs in Sri Lanka. He said the increasing racial and religious struggle has led to tensions among calm societies who were once living in concerted co-existence and peace, adding that terrorism belongs to no religion, race or nationality but only a single short-minded extremist ideology in the world is standing behind this kind of hatred. He cast light on the role being played by his organization to spread the notions of dialogue among cultures and civilizations of today's world. Later, and on the sidelines of the forum, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Dr. Al-Othaimeen and discussed issues of mutual concern. --SPA 19:16 LOCAL TIME 16:16 GMT 0019 www.spa.gov.sa/w1095795
