Dr. Manzlawi further said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an important member of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space and its two subcommittees (Scientific and Technical) and (Legal), indicating that the Kingdom represented by King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology has concluded several agreements in the field of outer space technology and its applications with a number of responsible actors in the United States of America, China, the Russian Federation, Germany and France, as well as other countries, in line with the Kingdom's policy and commitments to the United Nations' five treaties and principles on outer space to promote the use of space technologies at the national level in several fields. The Deputy Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations Dr. Manzlawi added that the Kingdom has developed a sustainable program for satellite technology and applications, including the training of Saudi scientists, engineers and specialists, and the transfer and localization of advanced space technologies, and the establishment of an advanced infrastructure to support and sustain a space industry in the Kingdom, pointing out that the Kingdom succeeded between 2000 and 2017 in the launch of 13 Saudi satellite in low earth orbits as well as three satellites to be launched for telecommunications, remote sensing and scientific experiments.
