The Hague, Safar 19, 1437, December 01, 2015, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stressed the importance of implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention. This came during a speech by the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Kingdom of the Netherlands Ambassador Abdulaziz Obouhamd on Monday at the Conference of States Parties to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in its twentieth session, which began in the Hague and lasts five days. The ambassador stated the kingdom's policy to dismantle all weapons of mass destruction under strict and effective international control and in accordance with the first paragraph of the preamble to the Convention, stressing that the report submitted by the Director General on the progress made in the destruction of Syrian chemical weapons, "does not dispel our concern about several matters including the inaccuracy of Syrian declarations' data, as so far it has not been 100% verified that there are no leftover weapons to the Syrian regime. The ambassador pointed out welcome by the kingdom of the UN Security Council resolution (2235) for 2015 calling for the formation of a joint committee between the organization and the United Nations to investigate the use of chemical weapons in Syria. --More 02:10 LOCAL TIME 23:10 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
