Water and Electricity Regulatory Authority: Practicing Electricity Activities without License is a Violation of the Law

Riyadh, February 19, 2023, SPA – The Water and Electricity Regulatory Authority has stressed that practicing electricity activities without a formal license is a violation of the Electricity By-law issued under the Royal Decree No. M/44 on May 16, 1442 Hijri. The electricity by-law stipulates that all electrical activities are subject to the authority’s regulation, and that whoever practices any of them must have a valid license issued by the authority, The authority noted that licensing aims to regulate these activities and to monitor the quality and reliability of services due to their importance to the consumers, the environment and the national economy. The authority urged those who practice any activity without a license to apply to the authority to rectify their status by receiving the necessary licenses to avoid penalties for violations.
