Beirut, Apr 14, 2022, SPA -- Chairman of the Lebanese Economic Organisations, former Minister of Telecommunications Mohamed Choucair stressed the need for Lebanon to adhere to the policy of disassociation from the regional conflicts, calling on his country's government to take the necessary and required measures to restore normal relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States. In a statement he made on the sidelines of an Iftar hosted by Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon, Walid bin Abdullah Bukhari, Choucair said that Lebanon cannot continue economically without a strong and deep relationship with the GCC states, especially Saudi Arabia, hoping that the next phase of relations will be fresh, positive and constructive in terms of relations between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia. The Iftar, which saw discussions on the general affairs in Lebanon namely the social and economic situations, was attended by several members of the economic bodies and heads of the Lebanese and GCC businessmen councils. --SPA 01:22 LOCAL TIME 22:22 GMT 0002 www.spa.gov.sa/w1720972
