Culture Ministry Concludes Participation in Saudi Cup with Diversified Cultural Activities

Riyadh, February 27, 2022, SPA – The Ministry of Culture and affiliated commissions has concluded their participation in the 3rd Saudi Cup that was held on King Abdulaziz Equestrian Field. On the second day, the ministry participated in several diversified cultural activities and events as part of its efforts to enhance the presence of Saudi culture in international events. The ministry patronized the fourth round of the second day races of the Equestrian Club, where “Aan Al-Awan” (It is time) horse, owned by sons of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz won the race and was awarded the 2020 Saudi Coffee Year logo. The ministry, through the Ibbiyah pavilion, offered several cultural events, such as a musical show of musicians playing oud, flute, violin, and qanun, in addition to providing a shop offering and explaining various Saudi coffee types with various ways of preparing, where the ministry also provided the ship with cultural books. The cultural events in the Saudi Cup also included a corner for fashion by the Fashion Commission’s initiative “100 Saudi Brands”, which displayed 23 traditional outfits with a modern touch as Saudi works, which included the work of Saudi designer Noura Hifthi who showcased a women costume that was inspired by her childhood that she spent in Madinah, in the west of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, inspiring her idea from the velvet doors and couches with green colors, in addition to the color of ribboned works, while the Saudi JINO Fashion House adopted the Saudi Arda outfit with modern criteria, where the outfit consists of “Al-Saya” and “Al-Mardoun”. The ministry concluded its efforts with organizing a gala dinner under the starts, where it offered guests of the Saudi Cup local dishes that were made exclusively for this global event, in addition to organizing an auction whose profits will be donated to a charity association. --SPA 13:40 LOCAL TIME 10:40 GMT 0007 www.spa.gov.sa/w1697197
